I’ve just found my first bug with MySQL. It seems there is a problem where before update triggers are not executing with NDBcluster tables but they do work with the same table in MyISAM format.
Road Legal Buggies
Every so often, I see something so cool that I feel compelled to buy it, and it happened to me again this weekend when I saw a website selling Road Legal Buggies. What is a road legal buggy you may be thinking? Well it’s basically an off-road go kart, that can also be driven on the road (with tax, license plates and insurance). I haven’t decided on exactly which one to get yet, but here is my research so far:

- PGO Bugrider 500
- PGO 250E £3599 inc TAX, 6months road tax, and registration
- PGO 250E
- Jungle Bikes
- Scorpion 250 Buggy | Large Photo
- Scorpion 650
- Razor X Buggy – £2250 + vat
- 250CC Road legal buggy – £2215 on the road (VAT, 6 months road tax, registration) Import direct from china
- Spanish site with some bigger engine 1100CC buggies!
- AXR Crossbone Enduro Carbone
- Buggy with Roof rack!
- Buggy chasis to fit donor car parts (complete cars in for sale section)
- Track in dorset, membership available – can test drive their buggy £10 per hour…
- Diary of a Fiat 126 based Predator Buggy
- Blitz KR2 160bhp Rover Engine (motorbike performance!)
1 Million Britons Struggling To Pay Debts
I normally steer clear of politics on my blog, but the fact that 1 million Britons are struggling to pay their debts really worries me. We’ve become such a buy now, pay later society that people aren’t prepared to save for what they want.
Build your own hot tub
If you have ever thought about making a spa in your back garden, then you can learn from my experience and read how I built my own hot tub. Foolishly, I thought it would be easy!
British Army climb Mount Everest
I was quite impressed with the MODs use of technology as the Army climb Mount Everest. Blog, Google Earth position tracking, podcasts, rss… they’ve really pulled out all the web 2.0 stops on this one!
Rsync on windows causing 100% CPU
I’ve just installed rsync on my windows workstation to copy files from my linux server, but it seems to be using 100% of the CPU on the windows machine compared to about 2% on the Linux box. One thing that did help a bit was to use the –whole-file option, this seemed to treble the transfer rate and reduce the CPU use a few percent. See this article about Lee.org ยป Using Cygwin, Rsync, SSH and the internet to backup XP computer for further information.

House Price Discussion
Whether you are a bull or a bear, it’s hard to dispute the fact that house prices are at an astronomical level. The number of first time buyers has fallen to near-record lows, and developers are building more flats than anything else even though only 3% of people aspire to live in one. Discuss key issues like these on this House Price Wiki.
Azureus disk write error
If you get an “azureus disk write error” where it complains the file is being used by another process, then check this out: How To Fix the Azureus “File Close Fails” Errors. It turns out it is Google Desktop locking the files.
Sliding Folding Doors
We were thinking of replacing the patio door to our back garden at home with a bifolding door. It’s quite amazing how much wider the opening is with these, and they look pretty smart too. If you are interested, have a look at this bifold doors wiki for further information.
